BURIED BUMPER SYNDROME; A RARE COMPLICATION OF PEG TUBE INSERTION WITH ACUTE PRESENTATION
Abstract
Buried bumper syndrome is a rare complication of PEG tube insertion that too with acute presentation. Here we present a case of 59 years old female with newly diagnosed nasopharyngeal carcinoma who underwent PEG tube insertion and later on had complaint of abdominal discomfort after every PEG feed which gradually increased in intensity. One week later she presented to the emergency department and was diagnosed as Buried bumper syndrome. The PEG tube was removed immediately and patient was sent to floor for further management.
