Abstract

At this time of social, economic and political turmoil in the country Pakistan Journal of Radiology is also undergoing a major change in its life. After being a nomad for the past twenty plus years, moving from city to city, province to province it has finally decided to settle down. Karachi is it new chosen home. Not only does it have a new home, this is accompanied by a new website and has a new editorial team at the helm. It is early days and this is the first issue from Karachi. You will notice many new features which have been introduced to broaden the scope of the journal and make it more relevant to the issues facing Radiology in Pakistan today. Notably there are now dedicated sections for radiology trainees and technologists. These sections should help these under represented sections of the radiology community to have a voice and to highlight issues from their perspective. Other new additions are sections on management and digital technology. I feel that these are the need of the hour. Without good management structures and without embracing new technology not only “in the front of the house” but also in the “back of the house” we cannot hope to continue to play a role in the ever changing arena of healthcare.
