Abstract

As you know that your Pakistan Journal of Radiology (PJR) has crossed a milestone by publishing a print-ahead issue (PJR 26.1) in November 2015. Other thrilling news which I have shared you recently is recognition of PJR by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. For these achievements we are grateful to Almighty and to my dedicated team.  We are still receiving the felicitation messages from different corners and also queries about the progressive increase in publication time of manuscripts. We do understand the apprehension on the part of authors and this is a universal phenomenon. In last six months we have received an unprecedented number of manuscripts from different part of the world. After HEC recognition, I am anticipating   significant influx of manuscripts from faculty members of various teaching hospitals. You know that process from submission to publication is a tedious and time consuming process which involves many people like editors, reviewers, proof reading, managing editor and final publishing team.  The most time consuming stage is review phase as we strictly follow the policy of blind review by at least 02 reviewers. Due to enormous influx of manuscripts, we have realized that existing number of reviewers are not sufficient.
